Our condo is a beach level unit in Condumel, which is situated on the blue Caribbean just north of the presidential estate, a pleasant mile walk from the charming downtown of San Miguel. From the ocean road you see Condumel's striking ornamented façade in the mode of ancient Mayan architecture. In contrast to crowded hotels and resorts, Condumel contains just 8 units, providing a private and peaceful experience of sand and sun and Caribbean island culture. And no warmed-over resort food! You can enjoy the fine and varied cuisines and delightful ambiance of the many excellent restaurants on the island. Or try out your own Yucatecan recipes in the spacious and fully equipped kitchen while looking out on the front tropical garden or the unobstructed Caribbean Sea. When you arrive the kitchen will be stocked with basic supplies, including milk, bread, eggs, water, soda, beer, wine, and liquor--any of which you may enjoy at modest prices. You don't even have to do your own dishes if you cook! One of the lovely maids on staff, wearing traditional Mayan dress, will provide fresh towels and bedding, and she will clean your condo (including dirty dishes) seven days a week. She will also do laundry and ironing if you ask. The spacious bathroom includes a large marble bath and bidet. Our “Old Havana” style decorating creates a pleasant and soothing environment. The large master suite with king bed looks out on sand and sea, and the wall-size sliding door lets in the sound of waves or wind in the palms.
You can start your day sitting out on the terrace with a fresh pot of coffee, enjoying the morning sea with fishing boats and cruise ships—and sometimes dolphins—passing by. And of course you'll want to enjoy the private beach with its dazzling white sand against the variegated blue sea: bathing, diving (enter the water by ladder or diving board), swimming, and snorkeling—or dozing in a hammock or under the palapas. If you must have contact with life outside paradise, wireless broadband internet access is included, along with TV, DVD, VCR, and CD player.
